John Lumpkin is one of the most dynamic versatile drummers of his generation. With his musical vocabulary of gospel and jazz, Lumpkin brings listeners along for an artistic and spiritual journey. John’s musical talent has taken him across the globe, from Japan to Switzerland, and in prestigious venues such as Jazz at Lincoln Center and the Dr. Phillips Center. With roots in the pentecostal church, John remains dedicated to using his musical gifts to inspire and uplift others. Since completing his studies with Danny Gottlieb and Leon Anderson, John has collaborated with music greats such as Wynton Marsalis, Sean Jones, and James Moody, among others.
