Live at Timucua: Derrick Harris & The Eighth Note Collective

Derrick Harris leads his modern quintet, The Eighth Note Collective. The group primarily plays original compositions written by each member, along with the traditional standards and contemporary music. Harris started playing the trombone at age 11. He was inspired by the great trombonist and composer J.J. Johnson. A member of the Dr. Phillips Center Jazz Orchestra, Harris is a sought-after jazz soloist throughout Florida. He has performed alongside acts like George Lopez, DrumLine Live, and The Temptations. Recording for television, Harris’s trombone can be heard on the Fox television series Empire, and on nationally-renowned gospel artist Tye Tribute’s TBN Christmas Special.
