Live at Timucua: Bobby Callender performing The Way

“Something beautiful is upon us – an ensemble performance of Robert Callender’s The Way, a psychedelic masterpiece of spiritual proportions performed live in full effect and mystical glory.

In a school of his own, Callender’s music defies category. If comparisons were to be made one would place him among a coterie of fellow soul auteurs like Eugene McDaniels, Betty Davis, Charles Stepney, George Clinton, and Arthur Lee- the same kind of musical legacy that laid the foundation for high concept Afro-Futurism i.e. Prince, the Native Tongues, Bilal, Valerie June, Janelle Monae and more.” – Kyle Eagle, The Major Scale

Timucua Arts Foundation presents Robert Callender performing his seminal 1971 prog classic The Way (First Book of Experiences) in a 50th anniversary event. The album will be lovingly recreated with a full band, string ensemble, and Bobby Callender himself.

Due to Timucua’s intimate nature, limited seating available. There are only 75 tickets for each of two dates.

Timucua is located at 2000 S. Summerlin Ave Orlando, FL 32806

Stay the night, after the show.

Our friends at The Delaney Hotel and Delaney’s Tavern are just one mile from Timucua. With a fantastic kitchen and bar and great ambiance, Delaney’s Tavern is the perfect place for dinner or drinks before a concert at Timucua.
