Orlando Live Read presents: Field of Dreams
Michael Finn is an active film maker and he gets incredible actors to read classic films. He reads the actual director’s notes, making the experience unique and fascinating. Here are a couple of the actors who are performing Sunday:
Cameron Francis – as Doc Graham & Archie Graham (plus other roles)
Cameron has appeared in countless commercials and several movies, including the upcoming Kevin Smith film Killroy Was Here. He was last seen in Orlando as Arthur DeBourgh in Miss Bennet: Christmas at Pemberly at the Orlando Shakespeare Theatre, and in Pride & Prejudice and Dinner With Friends at Mad Cow Theater. He has also appeared in Shear Madness, Dr. Jekyll & Mr. Hyde, A Midsummer Night’s Dream and many more productions.
Kelly Tinsley (playing “Annie”):
Kelly Tinsley is an Actress, Writer, and Long Form Improviser. She has completed core curriculum and is currently a student in the conservatory program at SAK Comedy Lab in Orlando and is a co-creator of the improv group “Kombustible S’ mores” and performs regularly at their First Friday show. She is also a Co-Founder of Tinderbox Improv Playhouse located at The Backspace in College Park. Kelly’s feature-length romantic comedy script “The Things We Do For Love” was a finalist in the New York International Screenplay Competition in 2017.
In addition to her work on stage and in front of the camera, Kelly is Co-Owner of Tin Men Inc., a full-service production company in Orlando.
Tom Nowicki – as Ray
“This is the second time Mike has asked Tom to play someone way younger and prettier than he is, and Tom is exceedingly grateful to him for the fleeting moment of glory.
You can see him soon in Julie Taymor’s bio-pic of Gloria Steinem THE GLORIAS; he is currently filming a new streaming series called PREACH in which he plays the villain,
a pioneering drug kingpin in league with Chinese gangsters.
J LaRose – as Shoeless Joe Jackson
J LaRose is an American Actor who has appeared in over 40 film and Television projects. His appearance in the hugely popular SAW series as “Troy the Chainman” brought great accolades as he grossed out audiences with his flesh ripping scene. He also provided huge scares in the mega hit “Insidious” and “Insidious Chapter 2”. In addition, he can be seen in the cult fan favorites “Repo! The Genetic Opera” and “The Devil’s Carnival”. Look for J in the current release of “Dark Places”, and soon to be released “Wind Walkers”, “Last Shift”, “Abattoir”, and “The Devils Carnival 2”. Look for J in the recent season of “The Righteous Gemstones” and an upcoming episode of “Brockmire”.
Veronica Nia Kelly – as Karin (plus other roles)
Veronica Nia Kelly is an actor, comedian, host and director from Orlando,Florida. She has studied acting at Florida State University and in London where she cultivated a love for activism and theatre for the oppressed. You can catch her on the SAK Comedy Lab stage on select Tuesday nights in the Lab Rats ensemble or at Disney where she creates magic. For the 2020 Orlando Fringe Festival, Veronica is directing her third show – an original comedy called “Group Hairapy”; which will run from 5/15 to 5/24(More info to come at:https://orlandofringe.org/). Kenny Babel – as Terrance Mann & “The Voice”
Kenny Babel is a local actor, writer, director, and creative consultant who has been in the Orlando area since 1991. He has been fortunate enough to work with Michael Finn many times, most notably on the film National Lampoon Presents: Robodoc. He was also in a film called Robodog and is up for any type of Robo-movie coming in the future. His day job is performing in the new Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge, and he can be seen regularly on stage at Orlando Shakes. He will be performing the role of Exeter in the upcoming staged reading of the Shakespeare classic “Henry V” at the Dr. Phillips Performing Arts Center. Previously he joined Orlando Live Read for The Princess Bride as Vizini and Miracle Max.
John Connon – as “Mark” & other roles
John Connon is excited to return to the Orlando Live Read series, having been a part of The Empire Strikes Back reading. He is an Ensemble member of SAK Comedy Lab as well as a teacher of improv, both for short form improvisors and for working actors. He is also a writer and film maker, currently in production with two short films. He was most recently seen on the big screen in It: Chapter Two.
Jenna Meyer – as “Veda” & other roles
Jenna Meyer is a 17-year old junior at Boone High School, actor, and vocalist. And has lived across the street from the Finns and the Timacua House since the day she was born. She started acting at the age of 10 and hopes to pursue it as a career. She is currently getting ready to star as Kate in “Kiss Me, Kate” at Boone High School on March 5th- 7th. You should go.
