Summary of Workshop Exercises

Attendees only need a pen or pencil. Every attendee is given a booklet to fill out. The first thing to fill out is a box asking them what they think need to happen for the session to be worth it. Between each writing task there will be group and individual discussions, and talks fromJohn Paul. John Paul will run a Powerpoint presentation off of his laptop.

Then they are asked to take stock and write down their strengths, weaknesses and one opportunity that is coming up on the horizon. The third task is to pick two people in each artists’ life that can be relied upon to hold them accountable for boosting their career. The fourth task is picking a long and a short-term goal to stick to.After this the artists are asked to pick two things they can do to achieve those goals. Finally each artist does a task that will help them change their language about their arts practice.
