Guitarist Nels Cline is considered one of the 100 Greatest Guitarists by Rolling Stone magazine. While he is most commonly identified as the lead guitarist in Wilco, Cline has a storied career transcending stylistic boundaries as an improvising avant-garde stalwart and emphatic hired gun. He appears in the role of improvisor in the company of Gerald Cleaver and Larry Ochs. Gerald Cleaver is an in-demand drummer in and amongst the world’s meanest competition for that position in New York City. Cleaver’s credits include legendary creatives Roscoe Mitchell and Henry Threadgill. Larry Ochs is a co-founder of the forty-one years running ROVA, one of the first saxophone quartets in jazz music. Ochs makes his sixth appearance at an Orlando-area Civic Minded 5 concert with this improvising trio.
