Live at Timucua: Tangled Bell Ensemble (Rebroadcast)

Timucua presents the live rebroadcast concert of the Tangled Bell Ensemble from 2/3/19.

In 2019, Jim Ivy presented an exploration in symbiotic sound. The main goal explored the juxtaposition of seemingly conflicting concepts and approaches and displaying them in an aligning way; to show how antagonistic forces and unfamiliarity can create cooperative friction and become formidable allies. The intent being that all portions of the whole (notated music, text, improvisation) were at once independent of and mutually dependent upon each other; symbiotic. Each being a part and apart simultaneously.

Jim Ivy is an improviser and composer currently residing in Apopka, FL. His main form of expression is using reed instruments (in particular, saxophones) but he can also be found performing on shakuhachi, electronics, balloons, and an arsenal of game calls and whistles. He has worked with such International artists as Davey Williams, Wade Matthews, Simeon Coxe III, David Dove, Emily Hay, Kris Gruda, Jill Burton, and Doug Mathews.
