Joseph Keckler: A Halloween Special 10/26

October 26 @ 7:30 pm - 9:00 pm EDT

Multimedia and Songwriter / Live at Timucua: Presenting a special Halloween-themed concert, interdisciplinary artist Joseph Keckler serves an intoxicating brew of haunted balladry, spooky grooves, and tales from everyday life, transformed into captivating and often hilarious underworld voyages. Operating in a mode of his own, somewhere between performance art, opera, rock, and roll, Joseph Keckler performs solo, using only his powerful and expressive voice, video projections, and a piano. Returning to Timucua after a memorable set last year as Lydia Lunch’s guest, he shares highlights of his work.

Praised by The New York Times as “A major talent… phenomenal… who shatters the conventional boundaries,” Joseph Keckler is a singer, songwriter, and multifaceted creator whose work has been presented by NPR Tiny Desk, Lincoln Center, Centre Pompidou, as well as innumerable scuzzy dive bars and many other venues. He often tours solo, as well as with Lydia Lunch, and was previously the national support act for Sleater-Kinney. His essay and story collection Dragon at the Edge of a Flat World was published by Turtle Point Press. He is currently working on new music, recording, and film, and is under commission by the Metropolitan Museum of Art for a new performance in 2025.
