Calling all who like listening to music and experimenting with computers! Join the Timucua Arts Foundation for an exciting virtual workshop on creating music with computers.
During this class, you’ll learn the basic concepts of coding by experimenting with a browser based live coding environment, Gibber. Using Gibber you’ll be able to create your own drum grooves, a random chord generator, and learn how producers and electronic musicians use digital effects to make music come alive. This activity is going to put the T in STEAM!
All skill levels are welcome, even if you have no musical training or computer science experience. This class is for people of all ages who want to learn a new way to express themselves using technology and creative problem solving.
This program will be facilitated over Zoom. The Zoom link will be included in the confirmation email you receive the week of the program. You will also use the website gibber.cc throughout the program. An account is required to save work, but is not necessary for the class. Some may find it easier to use two devices during the program (computer and mobile device, two computer screens, etc.) so they can log onto Zoom with one and Gibber with the other, however one device will work just fine!
