The Timucua Arts Foundation offers a free composition class available to all who want to learn at the Melrose Center of the Central Orange County Library in Downtown Orlando.
Students from Timucua's music composition program, Works with Sounds, will have their pieces performed by professional musicians at this afternoon concert. Free and open to the public.

Alterity Chamber Orchestra's MIC Chamber series features the principal members of Alterity Chamber Orchestra in different configurations, giving each member a chance to showcase their unique artistry. This program features Alterity co-founder Natalie Grata performing works for clarinet and string quartet, along with the Orlando premier of Quartet for Heart and Breath by Richard Reed Parry. Grata and the alterity string section will be joined by friends for a new work by Orlando composer and improviser Brandon Miller.Find out more »
Father Ray Kelly achieved worldwide YouTube fame when he sang a wedding version of Leonard Cohen's Hallelujah at a ceremony in St. Brigid's Church, Ireland; now over 56 million hits on YouTube! He has since then signed a contract with Universal Music Ireland, performed several concerts and produced two music CDs, Where I Belong 2014 and An Irish Christmas Blessing 2015. Subsequently, there have been many interviews, various television appearances, and several concerts in Ireland, US, and Europe. Father Ray also keeps up with his Parish work in Oldcastle and continues to share his talent in benefit of charities and good causes.Find out more »
The Space Coast Big Band is a 19-piece jazz orchestra led by trombonist Joel Greenblatt and is comprised of some of the finest musicians throughout Central Florida. The band has a wide array of musical stylings including Count Basie, Duke Ellington, Frank Sinatra, Gordon Goodwin, and the modern and energetic Cherry Popping Daddies. Chakra Khan is Alexandra Love + DiViNCi. The deep, personal writing style, eccentric cadences and lush harmonies of Alexandra’s performance, in concert with DiViNCi’s vast, poly-rhythmic, orchestral soundscapes is perfectly matched. Together, their sound is like smooth electricity, an intense, bass-rich, melodic wind. Their newest album, The Cope Aesthetic, coming June 3rd, is a more jazz-inspired, electronic soundscape than anything else the group has created thus far.Find out more »
Come hear brand new pieces brought to life for the very first time! Central Florida Composers Forum (CF2) was created to engage the creative community of Central Florida through the promotion of original and new music, education, workshops and outreach programs. CF2 features composers like Chan Ji Kim who has played in places like New Music Society concert in Seoul, Korea and is now Associate Professor of Music at the Brevard Community College in Florida and Keith Lay voting member of the Grammys who was hailed by Antonio Tommasini as “a composer to watch for”. Other featured composers are Eric Brook, Troy Gifford and Ryan McQuinn. The concert will be played by the Alterity Chamber Orchestra. Alterity Chamber Orchestra's MIC Chamber series features the principal members of Alterity Chamber Orchestra in different configurations, giving each member a chance to showcase their unique artistry. This is going to be a show of ALL originals with one tribute jazz standard to the late Sam Rivers. The Brandon Robertson Quartet will perform new music that will be part of their very first Album "The Time is Now", which they will start recording next Spring. Join Null-state co-founders Melody Chua and Benjamin D. Whiting as they unveil their sensor-augmented flute, dubbed the “Chaosflöte,” for the first time in the United States. The concert will feature premières of works, with both audio and visual components, for the instrument by both Benjamin and Melody. The concert will conclude with a special live-coding segment where Benjamin will be controlling the Chaosflöte, performed by Melody, live through code.Find out more »
